The StormContour method

Read the ground

Trace every arrival

Trace every arrival

We walk the site in context: slopes, surfaces, low points, soil, retaining edges, and the traces the last storm left behind. Elevations are measured, not estimated.

Trace every arrival

Trace every arrival

Trace every arrival

Roof water, driveway runoff, pool overflow, standing moisture and water arriving from beyond your property line all get accounted for. Not just the obvious puddle.

Name the risk

Trace every arrival

Leave with a plan

Before anything is designed, we identify where the water can lawfully discharge and confirm it. If a property has no verified outfall, we tell you that instead of selling you a system.

Leave with a plan

Trace every arrival

Leave with a plan

A sequenced, documented plan: what is happening, what it affects, what deserves attention first, and the discharge destination it depends on. When you are ready to build it, we build it.

Measure first. Move with confidence.

Most drainage work in this market is sold from a walkthrough. Someone looks at the wet spot, names a price, and installs whatever they install. Nobody measured anything, and nobody wrote down where the water was supposed to go.

StormContour starts with measurement. We map elevations across the property, trace every source of water arriving on it, and verify where that water can lawfully discharge. Only then do we propose a system, and everything we find is written down and handed to you.

No guesswork dressed up as a solution. We start with what the property is actually telling us, and we do not propose a system until the water has somewhere to go.

WHAT WE LOOK AT

01 / ROOF WATER

Gutters, downspouts, splash zones, and where every discharge lands.

02 / GRADE + RUNOFF

Slope, hardscape, low points, and water arriving from beyond your fence.

03 / EROSION

Soil loss, exposed edges, retaining conditions, and the clues that spread.

04 / POOL OVERFLOW

Overflow routes, deck drainage, and what happens when the basin reaches its limit.

05 / SUBSURFACE LINES

Camera review of accessible existing drainage, cleanouts and their condition.

06 / DISCHARGE DESTINATION

Where the water currently goes, where it can lawfully go, and the gap between them.

Why a diagnosis charge ?

A free estimate is not free. Somebody pays for the truck, the hour and the walkthrough, and that cost is built into the price of whatever gets installed. It also shapes what gets recommended, because a visit that only earns money if it turns into a sale is not a diagnosis.

We charge for the audit because it is a professional product with a defined scope and a written deliverable. It stands on its own. If the findings say the fix is a $900 downspout correction, that is what the report says, and we will tell you so even though it earns us almost nothing.

You own the report. Take it to another contractor if you want to. Most people do not, because the company that measured the property is the one best placed to build the system.

The system is designed to improve management of ordinary stormwater runoff under documented site conditions. No drainage system can guarantee prevention of flooding, foundation movement or water intrusion during extreme weather, off site changes, system obstruction or events exceeding its design capacity.

Foundation moisture and elevation readings are comparative observations, not structural engineering, mold or environmental conclusions. Engineered drainage plans are prepared and sealed by a Texas licensed professional engineer where required.
